English 9: Week 5, Wednesday
- First we got a new assignment
- Day of Kindness - For the next 24 hours be exceptionally kind to others. This video will explain the project.
- Then we did the DOL -
- The first sentence was an independent clause and a simple sentence.
- {carla looked at herself in the mirror and recited the poem fire and ice} - Independent Clause, Simple Sentence
- The second sentence has a dependant clause and an independent clause; making it a complex sentence.
- {we saw a midsummers night dream at the buell theatre}---- independent clause { after we saw the play at AHS} ---- dependent clause.... SImple Sentence
- Then we read this article
- Then we relearned how to cite our sources. Use easybib to cite your full source, and then use the first word of it to do your in text citation.
- Ex:
Shane, Scott. "Assessing the Trade-Offs Between Security and Civil Liberties." The Caucus Assessing the TradeOffs Between Security and Civil Liberties Comments. New York Times: The Agenda: Security, 24 July 2012. Web. 04 Feb. 2015.
Use “Shane” as the in-text citation.
- Ex:
(Shane).
- Also make sure that your lead-ins... lead into the quote
- Finally, we had more work time on our PLN’s and/or Little Brother reading.
