English 9: Week 5, Wednesday

  • First we got a new assignment
  • Then we did the DOL -
    • The first sentence was an independent clause and a simple sentence.
      • {carla looked at herself in the mirror and recited the poem fire and ice} - Independent Clause, Simple Sentence
    • The second sentence has a dependant clause and an independent clause; making it a complex sentence.
      • {we saw a midsummers night dream at the buell theatre}---- independent clause { after we saw the play at AHS} ---- dependent clause.... SImple Sentence
  • Then we read this article
  • Then we relearned how to cite our sources. Use easybib to cite your full source, and then use the first word of it to do your in text citation.
    • Ex:
Shane, Scott. "Assessing the Trade-Offs Between Security and Civil Liberties." The Caucus Assessing the TradeOffs Between Security and Civil Liberties Comments. New York Times: The Agenda: Security, 24 July 2012. Web. 04 Feb. 2015.

Use “Shane” as the in-text citation.
  • Ex:
(Shane).
  • Also make sure that your lead-ins... lead into the quote

  • Finally, we had more work time on our PLN’s and/or Little Brother reading.
